Sunday School
Meeting at 9:30am or 11:00am, these classes offer a range of Bible study, standard curriculum, and topical discussion.

  • Challenge Class - 9:30 am - Room 200
    This adult class discusses contemporary issues from a Christian perspective using a variety of formats including lecture / discussion, small group discussion, guest speakers, video lectures, and member reports.
  • "Spiritual Journey for Women" Class - 9:30 am - The Bay Room
    This discussion oriented class focuses on issues women face in life from a spiritual perspective. Teacher and discussion facilitator is Rev. Anne Alexander Stauffer, who is widely known and followed as a therapist, author, and teacher.
  • Disciples Class - 9:30 am - Room 105
    This is a lecture and discussion class focused on the Scriptures and how they speak to our lives today. This class is led by Dr. Roy Stauffer, who has nearly 40 years of experience in ministry and theology.
  • Friendship Class - 9:30 am - Room 143
    This class follows the International Sunday Sunday-School Lessons curriculum. The presentation usually consists of a lecture by the teacher followed by an open discussion of the scripture and its applicability to our lives. The class consists mainly of seniors, but would be enjoyed by anyone, regardless of age, interested in what the Bible is saying to us today.
  • Young Adults – 9:45 am - Boardroom
    This class offers an open forum for in-depth reading and discussion of scripture. The class generally focuses on one book from the Bible or one topic of daily life at a time.
  • Points of View Class - 11:00 am - Room 105
    This class is composed of people interested in examining their own beliefs. The organized discussions are based on readings in theology and depend upon the preparation and active participation of each member.
  • Reflections Class - 11:00 am - Room 200
    The Reflections Class is a Bible and issue based class that thrives on discussion and group participation. With lively conversation and coffee, participants explore important questions of the Christian faith. This class is led by Dr. Roy Stauffer, who has nearly 40 years of experience in ministry and theology.
  • "Spiritual Journey for Men and Women" Class - 11:00 am - The Bay Room
    This class focuses on life’s transitions and difficult issues from a spiritual perspective. Taught by Rev. Anne Alexander Stauffer, who is widely known and followed as a therapist, author, and teacher.

  • Men’s Mid-Week Bible Study
    An older men's bible study group meets at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesdays in Room 105. Another study for younger men meets at the same time in the Boardroom.
  • “Journey Through the Bible”/Kerygma Classes
    Journey Through the Bible, formerly known as the Kerygma Class, meets each Wednesday at 5:45 p.m. in Room 107 (Bridge Entrance)
  • Book Discussion Group
    The first meeting of the WCC Book Club for the 2008-2009 season will be held on September 16, 2008, in Room 143 at 10:30 a.m. Sallye Galloway will be leading a discussion on David McCullough’s John Adams. We would like to invite everyone who would like to join us in a discussion of this delightful and informative book. If you don’t have the time to finish the book, there is a video put out by HBO Video.
  • Woodmont Writers Group
    Open to & encouraging writers & storytellers of all types - although we periodically contribute to church publications, membership is not limited to church members. Meetings held monthly on Sunday afternoons in Room 100, August - May. Contact Julie Tanner, 292-9481, julitan1@comcast.net with questions.
  • Prayer Group
    Meets 9:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Parlor to respond to prayer requests and concerns.
  • Visitation Group
    A group who meets once a month for lunch, then goes to visit hospitalized and home-bound members and friends of Woodmont.
