The Nashville Food Project

The Nashville Food Project (formerly known as Mobile Loaves and Fishes) is a local organization that provides increased access to healthy foods in homeless and working poor communities across Davidson County. Over 100,000 people in Davidson County lack access to enough food to obtain and sustain a healthy lifestyle. The interconnected issues of poverty, low wages, unemployment and rising costs of food and living all contribute to the growing food insecurity rates in out city. Our organization addresses hunger using:

  • Our Kitchens, where we use gleaned and donated foods to prepare wholesome, nutritious meals for low-income residents of Nashville.
  • Our Gardens, where we grow food and grow people by offering educational opportunities for urban youth.
  • Our Trucks, the tools we use to use to distribute meals from our kitchens, fresh produce from our gardens and build relationships.
  • Our Relationships of accountability with our donors, our volunteers and the communities we work in.

Volunteers are an integral part of to The Nashville Food Project! Volunteers grow the food, glean the food, process the food, prepare the food, deliver the food and share the food. For more information or to get involved, please visit our website www.thenashvillefoodproject.org or call our office in South Hall at 615-460-0172
