Restore Ministries

We all experience challenges in life that are too difficult to face on our own. Fortunately, Woodmont Christian Church and Restore Ministries of the YMCA have partnered together to bring you intimate communities of hope & healing, right here at WCC!

The Purpose of Small-Groups: Build authentic relationships while finding hope in many of life's challenges such as loneliness, relationship issues, grief, anxiety, low self-worth, depression, substance abuse, or anything holding you back from living in the freedom that Christ promises.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is Restore Ministries?

A: Restore Ministries was founded 10 years ago at the Green Hills YMCA! Restore offers small-groups of 5-10 participants, led by trained facilitators. We believe that you can't be truly healthy until you are whole in spirit, mind & body. By joining a guided small-group, you will be challenged to confront areas where you have lost hope and you will be empowered to take steps towards lasting change!

Q: Are small-groups a Bible study?

A: Nope. Small groups are not Bible studies. The books we use as curriculum are written by Christian authors, but the Bible is not used as mandatory reading, rather as inspiration, guidance and the ultimate source of truth. In Restore small-groups, the leaders are not "teachers" but rather "facilitators" who impartially propel the small-group forward.

Q: How do I know if a Restore Small Group is right for me?

A: Is there any area of your life that you are wishing to change? Do you struggle with your relationships, saying "yes" when you mean "no," or finding yourself in situations you never wanted to be in? Are you having a general feeling that your life isn't where you want it to be? The purpose of Restore small-groups is to help you uncover some core issues and gently challenge the unhealthy patterns you follow.

Q: Is this expensive?

A: Not at all! Small-group pricing is among the most competitive in all of Nashville. Because of the organic partnership with the YMCA, Restore offers pricing on a sliding scale based on income. We also work out payment plans, and no one is turned away due to inability to pay. Small-groups are never more than $10 a session.

Q: How do I get more information?

A: Woodmont Christian's class list and registration is located on the info table in the gathering space as well as online at www.woodmontchristian.org. To register, or for a county-wide class list please contact Restore Center Coordinator, Heather Thomas at hthomas@ymcamidtn.org or by calling 615-297-6529 ext. 70528.

Restore's Lasting Impact

"When I started Journey to Freedom I had just lost my job, friends and was in a deep depression. I am now more content with life. Training myself to be better in spirit, mind and body. I have also been lucky to have the best group ever!! Relating and sharing out feelings from day to day life has been a blessing. I feel like I have gained a group of lifetime friends and support." --Journey to Freedom participant

"I began Restore Ministries nearly a year after graduating from college and a year info my first full-time job. As I strived for balance, control and reconciling myself to my still "new" lifestyle, I was at a crossroads. Restore helped me realize my need for change and personal initiative to bring my best self out"into my relationship with God, others and myself in body, mind and spirit." --Journey to Freedom participant
